RESULTS & CRITIQUE

Bitches - Mr T A Tuck (Nettleby)

Firstly, I would like to thank the Committee for inviting me to judge at this milestone event for the MBTC, it really was a priviledge and a pleasure. Thanks also to my experienced stewards, and of course to the exhibitors for a lovely entry that contained some really outstanding examples of the breed. I really liked my winners, and handled some extremely promising youngsters. Having said that, the early classes were much more variable, with fewer exhibits that combined quality and breed type. Later classes were more consistent, and it was nice to find a few more classy otter-like heads and neat front construction.

Open Bitch: 17 (3)
The first two are very special bitches, so much to like about them, and little to choose between them on the day.
1st: Comberdown Ciara (Mr I & Mrs A Higham) An extremely typical border, full of quality without exaggeration. Strong jaw, flat otter-like skull, keen expression, good front, body and hind angulation, in a really good coat and condition, and moving very well, CC & BOB. Standing next to the Best Dog she just seemed to have a touch more “togetherness” about her overall appearance, which just gave her the edge.
2nd: Ch Picer Bright Idea JW (Mr G & Mrs S Pickering) Another superbly constructed, top quality bitch, also with a strong otter head, classy outline, and excellent movement. Pushed the winner really hard, Res CC.
3rd: Vallemoss Viola (Mr L & Mrs S Moss) A typey and shapely bitch, nice size, good head and expression, plenty to like about her all through, just a touch less free on the move.
Res: Ch Ashbrae Trinnie (Mr & Mrs A Cuthbertson)
