JUDGE

MR T A TUCK

Thanks for this super entry, truly a pleasure to judge.  I was very pleased with the line-up in both challenges, especially bitches.  Both limit classes in particular had quality in depth.

MPD (10,2): 1 Rayners’ Stoneygin Murdoch, typey, nice eye and border expression, good front, racy and generally well put together, good coat, moved well. 2 Gale’s Windrushway Chinook, another promising pup with a lot to like, similar in build and overall quality to the winner, good topline and angulation, good coat, just pipped on movement. 3 Stockleys’ Foxfactor Hornblower. PD (5,0): 1 Lumbard’s Mystical Prince, tall though narrow and with a good front and shoulders, generally well made, in very good coat, scored over 2 on his overall outline and movement. 2 McPherson’s Brumberhill Bestseller, another upstanding dog, masculine, nice eye and skull, easier to span than winner though not in as good a jacket today, promising. 3 Horners’ Orenberg Advocate of Stineval. JD (9,1): Lee’s Tythrop Tapas, typey eye-catching youngster, nice size, super outline, lovely head, front and shoulders, moved true and with drive, bit short of coat today, must have a future. 2 Gilpin’s Otterbobs Ninezergh, liked him for his handy size and balanced proportions, easily spanned, good outline, nice hind angulation, in good coat, preferred the front assembly of winner. 3 Leslie & Bainbridge’s Risdene Tapanade. YD (10,1): 1 Barnes’ Gameway Illusion, typey and balanced youngster of correct size, good head and eye, well constructed all through, super straight front, narrow, moved very well, I liked him a lot, should make a good one with a little more maturity. 2 Hollingsbees’ Otterwood Amex JW ShCM, similar overall outline to the winner, just a shade bigger all through, well constructed, pipped by the front of winner but OK in this respect. 3 Chittenden’s Glorron Captain Hook. GD (7,1): 1 Leslie & Bainbridge’s Mansergh Hoasta Roast at Risdene, nice overall type, pleasing overall construction and bodylines, sound and well proportioned, good hind angulation. 2 Parry’s Blewe of Hullavington, balanced proportions and generally well made, similar to winner in overall quality and bodylines, just a shade heavier throughout. 3 Chittenden’s Glorron Captain Hook. PGD (6,0): 1 Sneddon’s Kersfell Comet JW, liked his moderate size and overall proportions, lovely outline, good hind angulation which he used well, in very good coat. 2 Gilpin’s Highfell Ike to Otterbobs, of very similar size and quality to winner, not much to separate them, nice head and overall type, good outline and balanced proportions, just pipped by coat and very smart outline of the winner. 3 Axford’s Barterhound Rhinestone. LD (19,0): 1 Harris’ Stoneygin Jack The Lad at Nickeltweed, nice size, masculine without coarseness or exaggeration, excelled for type, in hard condition, super conformation all through, straight narrow front, well ribbed back, nicely angulated rear, beautiful otter head with strong muzzle, thick pelt, double coat, moved with drive, very happy to award him DCC. 2 Pickering’s Picer Cuor Di Bue, very similar overall qualities to winner, straight front, racy, typical border with quality conformation all through, moved very well, pipped for first in head and coat. 3 Dickinson’s Badgerholme Ripon Garnet JW ShCM.

GB (5,2): 1 Channer’s Gwingwilli Little Owl, reserve in yearling where she was beaten by better overall outlines, generally balanced proportions and a nice size, nice enough head, a likeable all round bitch, perhaps a bit lacking in hind angulation. 2 Crockett’s Lipley Ta Pau, third in puppy, quite typey and balanced, similar size and quality to winner, similar remarks apply though less mature. 3 Sheard’s Clover Patch. PGB (13,3): 1 Girlings’ Benattivo Rockrose, a neat, nice sized bitch, typey, with lovely proportions and outline, good front, nicely angulated hind quarters, in good coat and condition, moved well. 2 Powrie’s Blue Winged Olive, nice head and expression, pleasing proportions, good coat, similar handy size to the winner though not quite so together in bodylines and construction. 3 Barbers’ Mansergh Maisy Toats at Alcumlow. LB (22,6): 1 Girlings’ Gameway Solstice at Benattivo, a beautifully balanced and typical border who really fills the eye, excellent bodylines and angulation all through, lovely otter-like head with good eye and expression, very neat straight front and well laid shoulders, easily spanned, well ribbed back with strong loin, strong hind quarters, has substance and quality without exaggeration, very well put together, really looked the part on the move and standing, very pleased to award her BCC and BOB. 2 Newsomes’ Kighill Millymoo JW, another top quality, well proportioned border, very eye-catching outline, good head, straight front, good topline, racy and strong hind quarters which she used well, liked her a great deal, just preferred the exceptional conformation and finish of the winner. 3 Pickering’s Cracker Jill JW.
